A Moment in Time

Life happens is a series of moments, moments we may not wish to remember or moments we wish we could hold on to for the rest of our lives. As a painter, I have often wished I had a camera with me for those times I witness colorful or intense combination of clouds that will never happen again. “A Moment In Time,” was inspired by one of those moments when I did have my cell phone with me to get a quick photo. One evening, my daughter and I were leaving an art show in Oro Valley. When we reached the parking lot, a glorious sky appeared before us for just a moment. I quickly took several photos, knowing that someday they would inspire a painting.
Since moving to the southwest in 2011, I have witnessed hundreds of incredible sunsets. Many have similar patterns of clouds with varying shades, but no two are ever alike. Just when I start to believe I have seen the most sensational, nature surprises me once again! “Magenta Moment” was inspired by a sunset that was so fleeting, it disappeared before I could take a photo of the magenta clouds that I’ve never seen again. I’m still learning to appreciate each moment, moments that I’ll never experience again.
